Our experience includes not only the hiring of personnel but also, when necessary, termination of employment and all procedures preliminary thereto. On occasion, budgetary constraints dictate the reduction of educational programs and staff associated with those programs. Our firm has substantial experience in advising and counseling boards of education in making the reductions necessary while protecting the statutory and contractual rights of the employees.

The Family Medical Leave ACT (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) all impose certain duties upon public employers. We have regularly counseled and guided our school clients through the statutory and regulatory maze associated with each of these Acts. When required, we have also successfully represented our school clients in defending claims before the Illinois Human Rights Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
